The first day of our trek across country to our hotel on the west coast did not go exactly as planned. First, we got started a little late. Then, part way through the journey we got a flat tire. So, we did not get to our planned destination for our first night camping. However, we did pull of the road and camped next to the most beautiful lake. But, the story continues...about 10pm that night as we climbed into bed the winds around this gorgeous lake picked up and basically blew us out of our tent! We spent the next 2 hours fighting with the tent as it blew on our faces, and trying to sleep with the loud noises it created. So, what was to be our first night camping ended up being us retreating to the car so as to get some sleep before another long day of driving. Come to find out, apparently our country holds their national wind surfing championships at that lake! HA HA! We still are in love with the lake...we'll just stay in a hotel next time.
